Help your children brush their teeth the correct way. Make it fun and memorable. Reward them with hugs and kisses, or do a dance when they are doing good. If your child is under 7 years old, I recommend that you help them until they can manage their own toothbrush.Encourage them by using yourself as an example. You have to live by the same rules that you expect your kids to follow. Brush twice a day, morning and night with a floiuride toothpaste for at least two minutes, that’s right, a minimum of 120 seconds.  There are plenty of kid friendly toothpastes and and kids toothbrushes to choose from. Make it fun and exciting by being creative.

Brushing your teeth is a learned behavior and a great habit to enforce. Kids follow by example, so show them and them them how to brush.  Brushing your kid’s teeth takes time and commitment.  Give them the guidance they need to grow up without cavities or periodontal disease.  Make sure to take them to see your family dentist regularly, which means at least twice a year for their check-up and cleaning.  If it is more difficult to clean your child’s teeth, then take them to the dentist more often.
